New Orleans, Louisiana
2008
Renovation of 1 ½ story home on Ursulines Avenue, historic Faubourg St. John neighborhood. The architectural design preserves and restores the historic Queen Anne façade and interior finishes in the formal living spaces at the home’s entry, opening within to a contemporary treatment with open floor plan at the family living spaces towards the rear of the house. The renovation required extensive demolition in order to remove partitioning and stairways that had divided the house into three apartments. A new stair with skylights reorganizes the living space at the first floor and the new bedrooms at the renovated attic, providing a dynamic connection between the living and sleeping quarters.
